Food & Beverage Policy

Curtin Memorial Library and Curriculum Library & Design Center

 

Beverages in covered containers are permitted in the library. Open, uncovered containers are not permitted at any time.

Beverages in any kind of container may not be taken near computers. No food may be taken near computers. Library users must leave their food and drinks on tables near the computer areas.

Snacks are permitted in the library. Meals are not permitted. 

Examples of snacks include, but are not limited to: pretzels, cookies, candy, and other non-greasy finger foods that do not require plates, napkins, or utensils.

Examples of meals include, but are not limited to: sandwiches, salads, hamburgers, pizza, Chinese food, and other foods which require the use of plates, napkins, or utensils. Foods transported in large bags or boxes or on trays are considered meals.

Library users who are observed bringing meals or uncovered beverage containers into the library will be asked to take these items out of the library and consume them elsewhere. Library users who are observed eating meals or drinking beverages in open containers in the library will be asked to take these items out of the library and consume them elsewhere.
